Project Starting Date12.01.2016
Project EndIn Progress
The agriculture of olives in Atlas Siwa is done by using modern machinery with high density cultivation methods. Olive trees grow in nutrient-poor but well-drained soils, and need full sun for fruit production and slight winter chill for the fruits to set. They should not be planted in areas where temperature drops too low, therefore the climate in our farms located in Siwa is considered very suitable to cultivate the best quality of Olives.
Olive tree planting scheme is decided according to the cultivation system applied either intensive or non-intensive. Hence, we follow intensive cultivation, in areas with fertile soil and sufficient irrigation, trees are planted densely. We use dynamic plantation system, where trees are planted densely at 5 x 6 m, 6 x 6 m.
